So after having a pretty hectic couple of weeks in terms of an overload of hockey and school work, I can finally sit down and write is lonnngggg overdue blog post.
I love reading fashion blogs, I guess that’s how I got inspired to create my own! After reading huge variety ofย blogs I’ve come to learn that there appears to be a hole in the internet for bloggers who just love bold colours and having a little bit of fun. ๐ I must admit that I do love the classic monotone style that some bloggers wear; it looks so classy, chic and easy to wear everyday. Although I love that style, I think it’s also important to experiment and try something a little different, don’t be afraid to stand out from the crowd! So in this post I wanted to share with you how to wear clashing colours, or just colours that you wouldn’t expect to go together. I hope you enjoy reading it ! <3
Although this outfit appears to be pretty dressy, in reality I would say that it’s actually “pretty simple”. These culottes which are in a stunning luminous metallic green appear pretty relaxed because of their shape; the flare makes them perfect for everyday wear. With such a vibrant pair of trousers, it’s probably best to wear a simple top to prevent it from being too dramatic and over the top. Okay, you’re probably thinking, “why did she say that? I thought this was all about how to wear clashing colours?” Although wearing bright colours is the main point of this post, it’s also important not to overdo it, you don’t want heads turning for this wrong reason. :/ It’s all about getting the perfect balance of colour, texture and shape. ๐
My “Top Tip” is to wear one or two brightly coloured items combined with a simple tee or shirt or (vice versa if you’re wearing trousers/shoes ๐ ). To top things off, accessorise like crazy with bold and unusual pieces! In this outfit, I’m accessorising with one of my favourite pairs of platform brogues (very Stella McCartney ๐ ) as well as my mini Zara fur rucksack, which looks fab yet is the perfect size for daily errands ! ๐
I’m also wearing my metallic culottes with a simple embroidered strappy top to keep the outfit from looking too busy. Wearing a stand out pair of shoes is one of my favourite ways to incorporate uniqueness into an outfit. Initially, red and green seem like an odd colour combination but it somehow seems to work! Plus the orange rucksack adds both a bit of texture and an extra splash of colour to the outfit.ย Instead of wearing bold colours you can also opt for different patterns and textures, such as embroidery, faux fur or metallic.
Picking out the colours you want to wear isn’t necessarily easy, but the best way to do it is to experiment see whether it works! ๐ ย It’s just about whether you’re willing to make the plunge and to try something out of your comfort zone.
I hope you enjoyed this blog post and feel inspired to try something new and fun with your wardrobe, I would love to hear what your tips are for wearing bold colours, so definitely comment down below ! <3
Have a lovely weekend sweeties !
