As a student, there seems to be some unspoken style that everyone seems to follow. Don’t get me wrong I actually love it, it’s so casual and comfy but I just don’t like the idea of being the same as everyone else! 😉 I feel like at uni, it’s that time where people are refining their personalities, turning themselves into who they want to be and learning to express. Or are we just going to uni to become more educated so that we can get better jobs and earn more money? That’s up to you to decide ! In my opinion, I guess it’s kinda both ?! I’ve learnt so much at uni about expressing who you are and learning to just be a bit more open about things! But it’s also a place where I want to learn more on an academic front, and yeah, I would be lying if I said I wouldn’t be disappointed if I didn’t get a good job at the end of it all!
Okay so this outfit is as a result of me going a little crazy after my penultimate exam, with only one left I just couldn’t contain my excitement and have ended up expressing that in my outfit ! Here I’m wearing one of all time fav pair of trousers , these metallic beauties by H&M. They maybe old, but they’re also going to be a wardrobe favourite of mine ! I decided to pair it with a simple ribbed tee by Zara and my super old and absolutely “trashed” Stan Smiths. Anyone else got a pair of super old trainers that they just can’t throw away ?! 😉 To finish things off and to add a little bit of that student feel, I’m wearing this gorgeous checkered baby blue blazer by H&M which I managed to pick up in the sale for £15! If you’ve been following me for a while then you will know how I’m all about those clashing colours and prints! I just love how these shimmery trousers clash with the “cleanliness” of the blazer, they”re so contradictory but go so well together ! Just to add that little but of colour and a smidgen of French vibes, I’m wearing this super cute berét… love me some French vibes !!
This outfit is me experimenting and probably getting a little overexcited after my exam. But isn’t experimenting what students do?! No matter how you experiment, do it in something you’re interested in and don’t do it just because other people are doing it ! Do what you want to do, and what you believe in ! It’s so easy to be sucked into the trap of doing what every other student I doing, but what’s the fun in following a crowd?!
My aim? To redefine what “student style” is by wearing what you want ! Just have fun with your wardrobe and experiment. There’s only one life so why not experiment just a little bit and step outside of your comfort zone 😉 .
I hope you liked this blog post and hopefully this post has given you some inspiration to redefine student fashion and to be even more expressive ! I can’t wait to share with you all the changes and the newness coming to the blog soooo soon ! Just have to get these exams out of the way and there will be bigger and better things to come ! 😀
See you in my next one, Izzy xx
